Tomb of Kran II

Tomb of Kran II

The Thracian tomb Kren II was discovered during joint archaeological investigations of the Historical Museum “Iskra”, the National Museum of Sofia and the trachological expedition of Dr. Kitov in 1995.

The tomb in Sarafova Mogila near the village of Kran has a corridor and two rectangular chambers, the walls of which are covered with multi-colored friezes. It is dated from the 4th century BC and suggests the existence of a Thracian painting school in the valley.
